Have a clear understanding if the price you are paying is for the full slab or by the square foot. If you are paying for the full slab and it is being cut, you can ask the stone company if they can include pricing for finishing the edges of the remnant stone pieces.

You might be able to use those pieces for something like a display tray or a cutting surface.
